The Superself Process

Welcome to my blog, where I, Rachel Moore, your personal coach based in the Greater Seattle Area (but working with clients everywhere), delve into the concept of Superself.

Today, I want to share the meaning behind the name of my podcast, Superself, and introduce you to the transformative coaching process it represents. So let’s dive in!

Unveiling the Super Self Process

When we think of the term Superself, it’s natural to associate it with achievement or taking action.

However, as you will quickly learn, the Supeself Process describes three key areas that hold relevance to our personal growth and development. Understanding these areas will provide you with valuable insights to examine in your own life.

When we are constantly attending to everything and everyone who isn’t us, it makes sense why we become so disconnected from our own selves.

Systematic Distractions

As women, we often encounter unique challenges that obstruct our path to self-awareness and authenticity. From an early age, we are conditioned to conform to societal expectations and constantly worry about how others perceive us.

Gender norms and inequalities further complicate our journey of self-discovery. In addition to the regular responsibilities of work, relationships, and family, women confront these additional distractions that divert us from our true selves.

Consider the various influences that may have caused you to lose touch with your authentic essence—perhaps it’s the pressure to meet societal standards, attend to your appearance to fit in, or the constant pursuit of societal approval which demands perfection in all things.

When we are constantly attending to everything and everyone who isn’t us, it makes sense why we become so disconnected from our own selves.

Radical Self-Acceptance: Embracing Who We Are

The first area we explore in the Superself Process is radical self-acceptance. This act of rebellion challenges societal expectations and encourages us to explore the narratives we’ve carried from childhood into adulthood.

We unveil the parts of ourselves that we’ve hidden and place them in their rightful context. By doing so, we move beyond biased perspectives, incomplete self-perceptions, and the belief that we are unworthy or insufficient.

This process leads to self-acceptance, self-confidence, and self-love, ultimately transforming how we feel about ourselves.

Understanding the World and People Around Us

The second area we delve into involves developing a truthful understanding of the world and the people within it. It’s about observing hidden structures, systems, and relationships that often leave us confused and unsatisfied.

By recognizing and comprehending these elements, we gain clarity and can choose our responses rather than reacting impulsively. We can protect ourselves from negative relationships and environments by understanding and discerning their true nature.

Empowered with this knowledge, we navigate our relationships, our environments, and the systems of oppression proactively which actually allows us to forge deep, meaningful, and fulfilling connections with others.

Superself is not about achieving specific goals but rather engaging in a transformative relationship with ourselves.

Being Green: Embracing Authenticity and Self-Care

When I mention “being green,” it’s not about environmentalism; it’s about being fully and unapologetically ourselves.

This courageous act involves taking responsibility for our well-being and finding balance in our lives. It means listening to our inner voice, understanding our desires and boundaries, and aligning with our core values.

By following our bliss and being true to ourselves, we attain balance, purpose, and happiness. This ongoing process strengthens our relationship with ourselves, instilling self-trust and acceptance.

Come Home to Yourself

Superself is not about achieving specific goals but rather engaging in a transformative relationship with ourselves.

The Superself process invites us to tell ourselves the complete truth, make empowered choices, and show up unapologetically.

By engaging with this process, we can develop radical self-acceptance, truly understand our relationships and environments, and courageously be our true selves… we come home to ourselves.

Remember, the power to embrace your Superself lies within you.
